  5. What does it do?

  8. This program provides a very easy way of changing the mouse speed, either by
  9. typing in a speed, using the function keys or even just by using the arrow
  10. keys!
  11.  
  12. Once loaded
  13. ~~~~~~~~~~~

  15. When the program is loaded, a small window with a writable icon will appear
  16. on the top left hand of the screen.  This window differs from most in that
  17. the title bar is vertical.  To move the window, click on the grey bar on the
  18. side as you would normally to move a window.  The writeable icon contains
  19. the mouse speed.  To alter the mouse speed position the caret in the window
  20. and type in the speed.  Either press RETURN, click on the icon or see the
  21. keyboard short-cuts below to make this the current mouse speed.  The window
  22. will always be in the top left hand side of the screen, even when you change
  23. mode.

  26. The Default file

  29. To load this file double-click with <SHIFT> held down on the !MChange
  30. directory.  The text file called Default is the one you want to load.

  32. This file contains a one digit number, which should be changed to the
  33. default speed of your mouse (see configure application for details).  When
  34. the program is loaded, it will set this as the default mouse speed for your
  35. computer.  If no default file is found by the program, a default speed of 3
  36. will be used.

  38. NB: All changes made by this program will be lost when this computer is
  39.     turned off.

  42. Keyboard Shortcuts

  45. There are a number of keyboard shortcuts to make this program easier to use:

  47. ^⇧F1 to ^⇧F9           :           Select mouse speeds from 1 to 9
  48. Up arrow               :           Increase mouse speed by 1
  49. Down arrow             :           Decrease mouse speed by 1
  50. ^Up arrow              :           Increase mouse speed to 9
  51. ^Down arrow            :           Decrease mouse speed to 1

  53. These keys will not work if another application is using them.  The program
  54. does not need to have the caret in its window to use the keys.  (NB '^⇧'
  55. means press <Control> and <Shift> along with a key from F1 to F9).
